Protest group seeks delay in Brattleboro nuclear hearing
The Anti-Pollution League Connecticut River Valley Chapter petitions in Washington to intervene in AEC hearings on Vermont Yankee. The Brattleboro group accuses haste and carelessness in siting the plant between Brattleboro and the Massachusetts border. They warn of extensive low level waste emissions and cross state air and water impacts involving Vermont New Hampshire and Massachusetts. They urge reevaluation of the Vernon site and seek a scientist citizen committee as well as postponement of the September 6 hearing due to funding and staffing gaps and a past improper negotiation by an AEC employee with Ebasco Services.
