Sleeping sickness fears drill through central New York
Intermittent showers and gusty winds postponed a third aerial spraying to curb sleeping sickness in the Central New York area. State officials confirmed a second horse death and said tests on a one month old child were inconclusive. A virus culture test began with results due mid next week. Weather slowed a 14 000 acre spray campaign north of Oneida Lake using a helicopter and a Duflow biplane, with Vapona insecticide.
