Minnesota Loses Suit Over Vietnam War Challenge
Minnesota's bid to have the Vietnam War ruled unconstitutional failed in U S District Court as Judge Earl R Larson dismissed the case. Attorney General Warren Spannaus said the state would appeal immediately to preserve the injunction against sending Clifton Perkins to Vietnam. The ruling follows similar rejections elsewhere, with Perkins seeking to test constitutional grounds based on Pentagon Papers revelations and state litigation authorized by the 1971 Legislature.
