Bravo Company Faces Water Crisis in Vietnam Patrol
Bravo Company of the 2nd Battalion 12th Cavalry in South Vietnam ran dry after landing near a river valley. Air and ground crews struggled with heat and fire, delaying water resupply as soldiers joked and sighed for a drink. A single helicopter finally delivered 55 gallons per five men, and the unit moved toward the Song Re tributary as Lt Kehrer mused on thirst.
