Progress Reported In GU Labor Talks Between GU and UAW

Labor officials reported some progress in the joint bargaining session at the Globe Union plant between Globe Union management and United Auto Workers Local 1371. The meeting began at 9 30 a m with mediator John O Reilly present and recessed for lunch at 12 30 p m. Both sides will review proposals separately this afternoon before a second joint session at the Post Office building. Governor Hoff may travel to Bennington if deadlock continues, while Labor Commissioner Louis Lavin plans to report to Hoff on Friday.
