Minstrel Ear Trumpet Relief Sought For Whitingham Show
Whitingham and Jacksonville Lions Club sponsor Old Home Week events with 35 locals set to perform. Director Mrs Nelson Burnett seeks an old-fashioned ear trumpet or feasible stand-in, creatively improvised from an Edison phonograph part, to aid the deaf character in Saturday’s minstrels.

DORSET Miss Kathie Hughes a Fresh Air child who has stayed with the Leon Edgertons since July 20 returns today to her home in the Bronx. Her sister Margaret has already returned home after visiting at the Edwin C Kinneys on West Road. Kathie’s Vermont visit marks her second, started last year with Mr and Mrs Ernest Edgerton in South Dorset. She enjoyed swimming with the Edgertons, sampling maple syrup, turtle-hunting, a trip to a covered bridge in Arlington, a Candle Mill visit, and two barbecues. Also returning to New York are Nancy Wong 12 and Norma with the Julian Huffmans in East Dorset.
