Congressional investigators say an intelligence agency has strong suspicions that up to 134 pounds of bomb grade uranium may have been diverted abroad from a Pennsylvania plant in the 1960s possibly to Israel. Robert Fri, head of ERDA, says no such diversion occurred though he won’t discuss specific assessments. The committee notes may be unproven but urge further inquiry into government claims that no bomb grade material was stolen.
