Equinox Hotel Officer Seethes Over $2,000 Tax Hike
Manchester official Thomas J. Farley, president-manager of Equinox House, denounces a tax bill totaling 22 037 for the town and village. He argues the 2 000 increase is unfair given the hotel's short season and higher costs, noting 2 200 guests would cover the tax for five months and 1 700 for insurance. He warns a permanent closing could harm the town and laments limited response avenues.
