Viet Cong Massing For Major Da Nang Effort
Viet Cong forces are believed to be massing for a major operation around the Da Nang air base and its 9,000 U.S. Marines as air and ground campaigns intensify in South Vietnam. The move could widen the war, drawing in more U.S. ground forces, and heighten pressure on North Vietnam and its allies.
