Westford IBM executive Harry Montague says he remains interested in running for governor if finances cooperate. He noted slower than hoped money-raising but supports challenging House Leader Richard Snelling for the Republican nomination. Snelling has announced. Montague favors a strong contest for party unity. In Montpelier, Washington County Republicans plan to nominate a new State's Attorney to replace Robert Gagnon who resigned to practice law. Assistant AG Louis Peck cautioned that filling the 2-year term is constitutionally complex and urged clarity on full-term versus interim appointment.
