CBS Inaugurates Advance Reviews Policy Shift
CBS TV becomes the first major network to allow advance reviews by professional critics. The change, effective this week, aims to pre-empt censorship pressures and boost visibility for quality shows. Critics will preview premieres, new fall series, and select episodes, excluding breaking news and last minute edited programs.

Lively World Communications Mess By Milton Bass
Milton Bass argues television censorship and network profit drive ruinous control of airwaves. He laments Smothers Brothers coverage, critiques Sen Pastore and network presidents, and predicts licensing chaos while blaming the overall system and Nixon administration for a looming fix. The piece blends media critique with political satire and a call for reform.
