Day care laws eyed by Vermont governor panel
A Montpelier meeting of the governor's small child committee heard that Vermont has licenses for haircuts beer bottling and other areas but no protections for young children cared for outside the home. The bill seeks state to social welfare and education departments to set minimum day care health education and certification standards. A follow up meeting will discuss minimum standards with emphasis on safeguarding children while their parents work.
