Small war in Yemen Could reshape global strategy
Beir ut based report notes a three year old conflict in the Peoples Democratic Republic of Yemen on the Arabian Peninsula’s southeast coast. Guerrilla bands allied to the Organization of National Forces for Southern Yemen and the Army of Deliverance attack Aden as Soviet arms flow in and Saudi Arabia seeks to oust the PDRY regime. The fighting appears likely to continue, with regional power stakes tied to Western access to oil and broader Middle East alignments.
