Roll Call Report shows Kennedy King vote on longstanding assassinations panel
Washington roll call details key votes March 24 to 30 in the House and Senate. Kennedy and King supported extending the Select Committee on Assassinations through 1978, despite budget cuts and leadership criticism. Secret session defeat blocked further briefing and the new Congressional Operations committee passed. Senate debates on pay raises, ethics code, and the tabling of related amendments framed ongoing tensions over accountability and compensation.

Vermont officials deny knowledge of bogus camps
Vermont officials say they know nothing about reported plans of an alleged underground child pornography ring seeking state child care aid. A Michigan paper alleged bogus charities and a New Jersey church secured IRS tax exempt status and foster care payments for what the paper called homosexual camps for boys in Tennessee and Louisiana. The report named Ocean Living Institution of New Jersey Educational Foundation for Youth of Illinois and Church of the New Revelation in New Jersey as involved. An imprisoned member reportedly said the church was a post office box for pedophiles to reach ring leaders. The IRS supposedly granted tax exemptions to the three groups. The Record-Eagle cited a four month investigation.

Diamond undecided on 1978 governor run amid duties
Attorney General M. Jerome Diamond says he has not decided on running for governor and has not had time to consider the possibility. He notes he is busy with his duties and dismisses political motivation in a recent spat with Gov. Richard Sneling, calling the disagreements three isolated incidents and typical of past tensions between governors and attorneys general. He stresses he has fulfilled his statutory duties and politics had nothing to do with it.
