Manchester selectmen learned Equinox Corp would hand over ownership of Equinox Airport if the town maintains it and allows for possible repurchase if maintenance lapses. The move could unlock federal funds for runway work as the four lane highway path looms nearby. Also, I N Barrett and Henry B van Loon were named to planning bodies, while fence maintenance between properties prompts reallocation talks.

Country Club Wins Large Response
Lodging category memberships for the proposed Manchester Country Club are temporarily closed due to strong interest. More than 60 pledges and memberships have been received toward a 100 pledge goal, with a prospectus mailed to residents this week and full pledges expected by week’s end. If the target is reached, a loan request from the Farmers Home Administration for up to 80 percent of an estimated 400000 construction cost could proceed, enabling construction to begin this fall if approvals follow.
