Reduced speeds do more than save gas
Reduced speeds, besides saving gasoline, lower the risk of serious injury or death in a crash, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety reported. At 60 mph travel time drops to 1 hour 40 minutes with a 44 percent higher crash fatality chance, while 70 mph shaving 34 minutes nearly doubles risk. The notice also calls for Beltrami County groups to seek a seat on the Bi County Community Action Council board by December 31 1973.
