Shuttle Enterprise makes first solo test flight at Edwards
The Space Shuttle Enterprise completed its first solo glide from the carrier Boeing 747 at Edwards Air Force Base California. Astronauts Fred Haise and Gordon Fullerton guided the 75 ton craft to a dusty desert landing ending a five minute glide from 25000 feet using five computers and ground beam guidance.
