Redlake Woman Killed in Weekend Shooting

Lois Johns a 20 year old Redlake resident was shot and killed at 4 55 am Saturday at Billy McGraw’s Redlake home. A suspect was arrested within minutes and faces arraignment before a U S magistrate. Funeral services set for Tuesday at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church Redlake.

City Council to Meet for Runway, Levy, and Ordinance Actions

The Bemidji City Council will meet Monday at 7 30 p m in city hall to hear a resolution naming the state Commissioner of Transportation as the city s agent for a proposed 900 foot runway extension and to handle all related funding negotiations with federal and state agencies. A levy base increase, first reading of an ordinance raising misdemeanor fines from 300 to 500, and a special permit request to move a house to a Nymore lot are on the agenda. The mayor will seek approval of Robert Aylesworth to the Bemidji Planning Commission after a planning panel recommended denial of the house move proposal by Laurel Robinson.

Bemidji School Board to discuss leaves and parking rules

Amoco withdraws from Northern Tier pipeline push

Amoco pulled out of the Northern Tier crude-oil pipeline proposal aiming to move Alaskan oil to Minnesota refineries.
