Thursday morning near Harrodsburg a handcar wreck seriously injures Wilingg Connor with head injuries and Logan Helms with a broken leg. Others on the crew suffered bruises and shock as the front car jumped the track and the second vehicle collided. Both injured men lived near Harrodsburg.
Fourteen year old Raymond Plummer attempted to save a dog on Washington avenue and was struck by a passing car driven by Theodore Bell. Bell and a party looked on as the youth jumped in front of the vehicle to reach the dog, suffering bad bruises but no serious injuries.
Fred Freeman announces his plan to apply for a liquor license in Merion Township as residents brace for a major opposition battle. The township recently became wet after a long dry period and a remonstrance is anticipated. Freeman aims to run a road house on the Mitchell and Bedford Pike hillside near the city.
A motorcycle ridden by Herbert Moray collided with a car owned by Dr. C H Emery at Lincoln Avenue and Seventh Street corner. Moray sustained head and knee injuries. the motorcycle front end and fork were smashed while the car suffered windshield and fender damage. The injured rider was taken to Dr. Emery’s office for treatment.
A car load of oil will dust proof Mitchell streets this season. The oil, costing about $2.00 per fifty foot lot, will be applied by Ohio Wright who will use a special sprinkler to oil the streets and curb dust.
General Superintendent Muir was expected in city Thursday aboard a motor car. He is making a trip over the entire line to observe operations and conditions.
Moses Austin entered a guilty plea in Justice Iseminger's court on Thursday and was fined one dollar plus costs for intoxication.
Ephriam Burford, through Owen and East, sues W McMillan & Sons and Johnson A Coleman in Lawrence circuit court for 10000 alleging a lack of guard rails or proper staging caused him to slip while building a gutter at a stone mill on February 14 1913. He fell eighteen feet to a lower roof then eight feet and suffers a permanent head injury including brain concussion.
In circuit court on Thursday Norge files a complaint naming Roll Carter as the defendant. The filing indicates a civil action seeking relief under applicable laws and outlines the matters at issue before the court. The case awaits further scheduling and service of process.

Ada Sitler sister of Sheriff William Sitler died at her home three miles east of the city Thursday forenoon at 10:30 after several weeks illness. She was born and reared in the county, was found unconscious after a farm accident, and her condition worsened in recent days. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
Miss Maude Perkins of Fayetteville visits her aunt Mrs William Gy ger on N street and has now gone to Evansville to visit her sister.

G A Munn, long in serious condition, underwent an abscess relief operation Thursday morning at City Hospital. Dr John R Pearson led the procedure with assistants Drs Norman and Mitchell. His condition remained very serious that afternoon.

Edward Haverley and Mrs Rose Murray of Mitchell obtained a license and were married by Rev F J Owen at the Baptist parsonage Wednesday with Mrs Harris as witness. The couple dined at the Deckard Hotel and returned to Mitchell that evening to receive congratulations from friends and relatives.
Wil Fiel of the American Express Company plans a special strawberry train on the Monon railway starting between May 20 and 25. The Louisville to New Albany to Chicago service includes a produce car for Louisville growers with stops at St Joseph Bridsar port Borden and Pekin. Raspberry trains may follow four days a week if growers cooperate.
County Clerk W F Rouff notified Governor Ralston that Special Judge Joseph Shee of Scottsburg did not appear to preside in the lengthy city and traction companies litigation. Rouff urged appointment of another judge as required by statute. Judge Seha, elected to the appellate bench last fall, was mentioned in relation to the case.
