Mrs. Jennings Larter, a longtime respected colored resident, died at 7 a m Friday at her East 9th street home from stomach cancer after months of illness. She was 69 years old and survived by her husband Jennings Larter and seven children. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 30 p m from A M E church, with burial at Green Hill. Allie Cooper and daughter Gladys were called to Terre Haute for Mrs Mary Cooper’s illness, with her condition improving Monday.

Accidental gun discharge in Thompson saloon injures man
