Hopkins Move Recreation Room To New Building
The Recreation Room will relocate this week from Woodman Hall to the old bakery building beside the hotel. The library and weaving rooms will share the new site. West wall of the old school is torn down and rebuilt while the new addition progresses. Brick work on the addition is finished, roof over gymnasium and floor being laid, and work runs ahead of schedule due to favorable winter weather.

The school dramatic club will present its contest play Sum moning of Everyman to the public the first of next month directed by Miss Ruth Bradfield. The group earned an excellent rating at the tri state meet in Tarkio and will appear at spring district contests in Maryville. Earlier the club performed three one act plays two comedies and a tragedy at the Methodist church Thursday evening.

Life Story of Elliott Hurd Highlighting Career in Local Press
Elliott Hurd of Parley and Eva Moore Hur lived 1878 to 1939, editor of the North Taylor Review, later Sharpsburg Herald and North Taylor Review. He built a printing plant, expanded operations, served as Sharpsburg postmaster, moved to Harvey Town, Fort Smith Arkansas, then Duquoin Illinois for health reasons. He married Nina Benton Copeland in 1926 and died in Duquoin with interment in the LOF cemetery.
