4-H Rally Day Planned for Taylor County Girls

Louise Wintermute 4 H president calls all Taylor County 4 H girls to Bedford High School on Wednesday in June from 10 am to 4 pm for the 29th 4 H Rally Day. The event includes annual business meeting honorary members leaders officers skits games and a Better Grooming Contest judged by Mrs. Laverne Sawyer Creston.

Nodaway Township Plans Program For Year

The Nodaway Township Farm Bureau program committee met at Wm. Repass home to plan the year. The monthly meetings will be on the second Wednesday and include educational topics and remarks. Holt 4 H Boys Hold Regular Meeting at Chenoweth

The Holt 4 H boys held their regular meeting at Chenoweth. Members discussed upcoming projects and planned a community service activity for the month.

School Club Vote Chooses Delegates to Ames

The May 18 meeting with twenty one members voted Harold Leonard or Ronald Bycroft to go to Ames. Trees planted this spring were mostly healthy though some died. After the business session, members played games and enjoyed pie and sandwiches.

4-H Dress Forms Fitted at Holt Laassies Meeting

On Wednesday May 26 Holt Laassies hosted an all day 4-H meeting. Nine members sewed industriously in the forenoon. A noon pot-luck dinner followed by 4-H songs and dance practice for Rally Day. Pictures were taken during the day.

The Gay Guss Boys Hold May Meeting

The Gay Guss 4-H club met May 24 with six members and the leader present. John and Gene Murren hosted as Mrs Murren displayed corn borer samples in various development stages. Richard Cordes and Valjean Branan plan to discuss the corn borer at the next meeting and each boy will bring a sample in the miller stage. Refreshments were served. Next gathering with Valjean Branan is scheduled for June 28.

Clayton Cloverleaf 4-H Girls Meet in May

The Clayton Cloverleaf 4-H girls held their regular meeting May 21 at Sam dra Sawyer’s home. Eight members answered the roll call on What 4-H has done for me. One visitor attended. Refreshments were served by the hostess. A next meeting is planned for June 3 at Judith Reed’s home.

Victory 4-H Club Holds May Meeting at Poore Home

An extra Victory 4-H gathering was held May 20 at Shirley Poore’s home with seven members. Plans for Rally Day were set, songs and skits practiced, and Mrs. Poore played the piano.

Seckman Reassigned as Farm Bureau Field Man Cass County

Ross Seckman, General Insurance Agent for the Farm Bureau, leaves Atlantic Iowa after thirteen months to serve as Farm Bureau Field man for Cass county. Walter Greenway, formerly of Bedford, takes over Seckman duties and is welcomed to work with Taylor county.
