Memorial and social notes from Oak Grove and area

Memorial services at Oak Grove were largely attended Sunday afternoon with music by the Pleasant Ridge band the Braddyville male quartet and a vocal solo by Mrs. Lee Humphrey. An address was given by William F. Stipe of Clarinda. A meeting for re organization and officer elections will be held at Oak Grove church Tuesday evening. Ladies Aid met with social time and refreshments. Four to graduate from Siam school Ruth Shields Lavina Smith Gladys Dalrmyple and Clark Miller. Various visits events and neighborhood news follow including memorial services attendance, showers, meetings at Highland Chapter O E S, and local travel and family visits across Braddyville Bedford and nearby towns.

Memorial Services Noted Across Gravity and Nearby Areas

Memorial and decoration services were held in Gravity at the Christian church led by Rev. Clark M. Crowell. Veterans from Civil War, Spanish American, and World War periods attended. Numerous visits and travels linked to Ladoga, Holt, Bedford, Indianola, Des Moines, and Glenwood marked the day as communities honored memorial traditions.

Ladies Aid hosts guest day at Methodist church

The Ladies Aid society sponsored a Wednesday afternoon event at the church featuring songs readings and a playlet Girls Training for Service. Mrs Emma Young gave a reading and Rev Pritchard and Rev Henry Byrne led short talks. Seventy attended along with several visiting families.

Union Memorial Services at Christian Church

Memorial services were held at the Christian church Sunday morning with Rev. Mr. Pritchard delivering the address. Decoration services followed Tuesday afternoon at Sheridan cemetery under the supervision of the American Legion of Grant City.

Injured Elderly Woman Recovers As Family Cares For Them

Mrs Ed Duncan aged 76 and an invalid fell at her home on Tuesday breaking both bones above the ankle. Mr Dun can is also an invalid and they are being cared for by Mr and Mrs Lon Robison.
