Bankstons Celebrate Forty-Eighth Wedding Anniversary

Mr and Mrs W H Bankston observed their forty eighth wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day with dinner for guests Mr and Mrs L C Beetler and family. Mr Will Robinson and family relocate to Downing Missouri where he becomes section foreman. Mutti couple to reside at Hopkins after December first.

E S Cameron Dies After Par a lytic Stroke in Iowa

E S Cameron of Bondurant Iowa died after a paralytic stroke. His son Ken and brother Winn Cameron of Omaha, daughter Mrs Harris of Bondurant, and Mrs Lathrop and Mrs McColm assisted at his deathbed. Funeral services were held in Altoona Iowa with several relatives attending.

Social rounds fill New Market and area with visits from Eldon Roth family in Villisca to Otha Shepherd in town and Denver visitors. Civil War veteran Charles Glassgow, the last in Dallas township, dies after 94 years with services and community notices marking church events and local gatherings.

Sharpsburg Holds Project Meetings and School Notes

Mrs. Chas. Sanders hosted project leaders from Marshall, Grove, Platte and Grant townships at her Lenox area home Thursday afternoon with about twenty attendees. Marshall township follow up is set for Friday at Mrs. Ralph Rutledge’s Sharpsburg home. program includes music and a one act school play by Lila Brown, Alice Fickess, Paul Fickess, and Clarence Wolf. The high school beat Clearfield in basketball. girls team fell in opening game. Students averaging B or above for the second six weeks include Richard Croft, Lorna Pfander, Lola Wolf, Paul Fickess, Mildred Pennebaker, Leona Blood, Bob McMahill, James Faurot, and Alice Fickess. Leona Sturm was absent with sinus infection.

Sharpburg School Notes Highlight Primary Class Activities

The first grade worked on addition combinations this week and primary room pupils achieved perfect spelling scores last week. Evening gathering in Gravity hosts county meeting

Mr and Mrs McArthur plan to move to Gravity soon. Mr and Mrs Howard Spring and son from Afton visited Sunday with Mr and Mrs Clyde Taylor. Mr and Mrs Francis Cundy of Weldon Iowa spent the weekend with his parents Mr and Mrs Lou Cundy. A county meeting was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Lou Candy on Thursday evening and a pot luck supper was served.
