The Bedford Free Press ends the partnership of A C Buice Jr and A W Hamblin dating to 1917 and begins sole ownership by A W Hamblin. Management has been with Hamblin since 1920 after Brice joined Marland Refining and last Saturday transferred all holdings to Hamblin. The paper has been politically independent since January 1915 and remains so under new ownership.

Lightning strikes barn and house near well
Just before a heavy rain and windstorm on Monday, W C Bowman received an electric shock while at a well or cistern. The barn was struck by lightning and connected electric light wires passed through the house to the well via the eye spout. The fuse and telephone were burned. the barn had minor damage.
