Aggies recall rise of the 12th Man and iconic games
Former Aggie Mudd explains the 12th Man tryouts started in 1983 with 250 hopefuls cut to 40 each year. He recalls the 1985 SMU win 19-17 and the kickoff stop at the 17 yard line. He notes the foundation supports scholarships and families affected by war. He stresses beating Texas as the season’s core goal and remains optimistic about UT game readiness.
