Dayton Broncos rely on quickness over size in playoff run
Dayton coach Jerry Stewart emphasizes speed and quickness over size as the Broncos prepare for a third round 4A playoff clash with Rosenberg Terry. He notes linchpins Aaron Jenkins and Xavier Edwards, both two-year starters, anchor a small defensive unit known for closing gaps in 25 to 30 yards. The team has gone 10-1 this season, with a 42-14 district win over Elgin and playoff wins over Livingston and Elgin.

12th Man spirit endures at Aggies despite bonfire loss
Dennis Mudd recalls James Fuqua persuading coach to join 12th Man kickoff unit, Sherrill’s five bonfire visits, and the team’s wartime-like unity. Caleb Pirtle II chronicles the all walk on 12th Man squad in No Experience Required, noting the bonfire tradition’s demise after a 1999 accident. The enduring 12th Man symbol remains with E.
