Lady Ranger hoops open season amid inexperience and tough district
Sterling Lady Rangers bring an eight player roster for the season opener at Spring DeKaney after losing last year's playoff foe North Shore to a different district. Coach Laurie Welch notes only three lettermen return and cites injuries, but expects steady improvement as Deshelle Isaac Chacara Gibson Emeral Ford lead the lineup. A strong non district schedule and a six team district heighten the challenge as North Shore Channelview Port Arthur and others loom, while new and returning players adjust after volleyball season and school splits.
