Rangers Play Pearland in Class 5A Bidistrict Showdown
Sterling returns to the Texas high school football playoffs for the first time since 1985, hosting Pearland in a bidistrict clash Friday at 7 p.m. at Deer Park's Clyde Abshier Stadium. Sterling Choir Fall Concert Features Five Award-Winning Ensembles
Ross Sterling Choir Department hosts its Annual Fall Concert at 7 p.m. Monday in the high school auditorium at 300 W. Baker Road. Baytown Special Rodeo grows with volunteers and sponsors
The Baytown Special Rodeo held at Eastside Honda welcomed local special needs kids for a day of fun with a hot dog cookout games and sponsor Baystar Emergency Response Teams. Cedar Bayou Junior School students and volunteers joined as Walton Walmart contributed for seven years. The seventh annual event drew hundreds of participants and volunteers reflecting the community effort and extended support.

Homeless Shelter Volunteers Honored At Community Barbecue
Bay Area Homeless Shelter Committee hosted a Saturday luncheon at 3406 Wisconsin Street to thank volunteers for repairs and renovations. Tim Westhoven, board member, described the effort and the event featured a grill crafted by his father in law. Cedar Bayou Baptist Church donated the gazebo and Exxon Mobil, Jindal Steel, Bayer, and Exxon Mobil provided support including a security camera system. The shelter’s family room was highlighted during Exxon’s Day of Caring. Pete Alfaro, former Baytown mayor and board president, lauded community support.
