America Sees Momentum Toward Three Day Weekend
The nation edges toward a three day weekend as holidays shift to long weekends and firms adopt shorter weeks. Reader's Digest begins a four day May schedule for 2,800 workers, McDonald's outfits offices with Friday early close and casual dress, Bank of New York tests a four day week for 18 employees, and union leader Edward Cleary cites economic need for reduced hours.
