Jim McCartney remembered for probing journalism and war service
Longtime reporter Jim McCartney was celebrated for his skeptical, relentless pursuit of truth at White House State Department and Pentagon briefings. A front line WWII veteran wounded in France and Germany, he later helped illuminate the military industrial complex and earned a Nieman Fellowship. He remained active in retirement, writing and speaking.
