Evening Pilots salute Baytown youth at Salute to Youth
The Evening Pilot of Baytown and local dignitaries honored graduating students from five area schools who beat challenges to succeed. The event highlighted Lee High School performers from Singing Hands and an array of honorees from Baytown Christian Academy and Ross Sterling, with special tributes to Jessica Escherger, Amanda Haynes, Jenny Jones, and others for arts, essays, Special Olympics, and overcoming hardship. Principal speaker Pete Alfaro urged the honorees to pursue their goals and prove naysayers wrong.
