Pudge Wilcox and Billy Combs of the Chambers-Liberty Counties Navigation District spoke on the district managing 80 000 acre feet of Trinity River basin water and the risk of losing municipal rights if the district cannot prove adequate control. The group noted irrigation history and rice production declines could affect future allocations.
An early Thursday Baytown home invasion and car theft ended with the arrest of a suspect in Beaumont thanks to an onboard tracking system. Baytown police say an 18 year old woman awoke to find a man in her parent’s Kilgore Road home. SEE INVASION PAGE 3A.
