Security-solicitor incident ends with suspect charged
A Fairmont Park West home visit by a man identifying as a home security salesperson led to inappropriate sexual comments and touching before the resident asked him to leave. The suspect, identified later as Lara, faced attempted sexual incident charges with Harris County DA’s Office. Police urge residents to decline strangers, take notes, and call non-emergency lines for bothersome solicitors.

Port Houston area pollution fight targets diesel exhaust threats
Tejada warns Baytown area air quality is driven by diesel exhaust from trucks ships and inland vessels. As Panama Canal expansion increases traffic, pollution risks rise but newer tugboats and ships will meet stricter standards. Public pressure may push Port of Houston Authority and Cedar Bayou Navigation District to raise business emission rules.
