Baytown Youth Fair cooks up community spirit and ribs
The Baytown Youth Fair features a 12 year cook-off tradition with 50 plus teams. Organizers Tony Bahlquist and Burl McBride say the event raises seven to nine thousand dollars yearly for kids, funding livestock projects and other youth entries across welding and horticulture. John Lewis recalls his late associate Kyle and keeps the music alive at the fairgrounds while Camp Cockers members welcome guests with food and fun. The event blends hospitality, karaoke, horseshoes, darts, and a diverse array of pit cooked dishes from ribs to fajitas for attendees and participants alike.
