Cinco de Mayo parade in Baytown canceled due to festival clash
Baytown will not host an official Cinco de Mayo parade this year as Baytown Long Neck Festival dates conflict with city funds. Last year the parade drew around 30 floats with support from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, while local events redirect attention to the Long Neck Wildlife Festival. Citizens can still find celebrations in nearby areas including Hermann Park and Houston listings, or contact the Greater Baytown Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for details.

Former Exxon contractor sues over firing linked to harassment dispute
Richard McCracken claims Kelly Services fired him in 2002 for standing up against a pressure group tied to Exxon Mobil and Houston based colleagues Lisa Irwin and Cindy Foster. He alleges in-house probes were inadequate, that he notified Exxon Mobil CEO Lee Raymond, and that the dispute caused bankruptcy and personal hardship.
