Baytonian unearths family war memory trove in home
Bert Sims of Baytown shows a collection of family memorabilia gathered after moving into his Country Meadows home. The items span Civil War to World War II, with many focused on his father Ted Sims a Marine who fought in the South Pacific. The display grew from donations by relatives, aided by a school report and 1903 geography book, while his mother receives care in a nursing home.
