REL tennis team battles low numbers at Lee High
Head coach David Walker oversees a nine player tennis roster at Robert E. Lee High, with only two juniors in the varsity lineup. He notes district rezoning drained participation after a third high school opened, forcing forfeits last fall. Jessica Roberts and Martha Gomez will play in the Galveston Invitational this Saturday, while Lee hosts the Baytown Varsity tournament on March 30. The district 19 4A meet is set for April 3 4 at C E King, and Walker remains hopeful for a continuing tennis program at Lee High School.
