Dr Kelly K McMillin 49 engineering associate for Humble Oil died suddenly in Brussels while preparing for a year long Esso Chemical post. Survived by wife Helen and three children Marky Donna Jean Kenny, family had moved from London to Brussels. He served since 1950 in Humble’s technical division and in computer and mathematics sections. Funeral arrangements through Earthmen Funeral Home.
A Baytown Civic Committee petition from Mexican American and Afro American residents urged district elections for council seats, more Afro American and Mexican American hires in the police force, and a Mexican or Afro American replacement for the mayor's assistant. Mayor Glen Walker promised a future public meeting with representatives to discuss the demands.

Born near Meridian Mississippi she traveled to Texas and raised nine children later moving to Baytown. Survived by three daughters 16 grandchildren 42 great grandchildren 12 great great grandchildren.
