Record rainfall in June tied at Texas A&M data source
June rainfall reached 6.66 inches, tying the previous Texas A&M Office of State Climatologist record from 2004. John Nielson-Gammon notes it results from a mix of factors including strong El Nino driving the jet stream over Texas, moist air from the south becoming unstable, and a persistent weather pattern.
