Chambers County tightens on site sewerage rules in Anahuac
Chambers County commissioners on Tuesday strengthened rules for homes with on site sewerage systems in Anahuac. They raised the minimum lot size for system sprinklers to three quarters of an acre and increased the tank size from 500 to 750 gallons. New systems must be engineered or licensed to operate, and restaurants must have audible alarms for malfunctions. Officials say enforcement and permitting will be examined further.
