Well cap captures more oil amid Gulf spill gloom
The containment cap is collecting about 460,000 gallons a day from roughly 600,000 to six million gallons spewing from the Deepwater Horizon well. Officials warn the oil has broken into thousands of patches, complicating cleanup and potentially causing long term environmental damage. BP and Coast Guard say the cap will be upgraded, with a bigger unit to gather more oil, while weather and timing affect the overall effort. President Obama vows containment and accountability for damages.
