Crosby School Board OKs Building 10 Classrooms
Crosby trustees held a called Friday meeting authorizing Architect Matt Howard to draw plans for ten new classrooms six at Crosby High and four at Drew Elementary funded from the 1969 70 budget requiring a tax-rate boost. Howard will review plans Tuesday with the board and a follow up meeting was set. The board weighed a plan to contest Texas State Board of Education accreditation and discussed a $2.2 million bond election result and a separate $1.6 million bond proposal. They awarded a depository contract to Crosby State Bank and prepared a 1969 70 budget with Supt Provazka warning of a $56 280 revenue loss if accreditation is revoked. A tax-rate increase of about 14 cents was projected to cover the shortfall with local financing.

Moon rocks to be opened at SPACE CENTER Houston
At NASA Houston a suitcase sized aluminum box containing about 18 pounds of lunar rocks and sun wind particles is opened in the lunar receiving laboratory.
