Drug busts tie up Baytown police action

Baytown police wrapped up a narcotics investigation and a separate traffic stop resulting in three arrests. In the narcotics case, special operations units arrested 40-year-old Jerrick High at his Garth Road apartment at 12:38 p.m. Tuesday. The operation yielded a shotgun, cash, prescription drugs and marijuana.

Mont Belvieu council tightens time off and holiday pay

Mont Belvieu City Council approved minor changes to personnel policies clarifying that vacation and sick time off cannot raise pay beyond 40 hours in a week and does not count toward overtime. The meeting also advancing the Cottonwood Bypass project and tabled storage well approvals by Oneok for review. The contract with Randle Law Office as city attorney was extended.

Baytown Council weighs Country Club Limited zoning

Baytown City Council will discuss amending the Unified Land Development Code to create a Country Club Limited district. The plan covers rezoning 633 parcels in Country Club Oaks from SF1 and SF2 to the new district, aligning with deed restrictions by banning duplexes home businesses and ADUs. Harris County Baytown Bus Service Reaches Sixth Year Milestone

Harris County Transit marks six years in Baytown with three routes up from two and rising daily boardings. The service began July 28 2008 and grew from 1873 to 2656 monthly riders in year two, then to about 6500 by year four. Lee College sponsorship ended in October reducing free rider counts by about 713 monthly.
