Baytown Police Department detectives charged three suspects, ages 15, 16, and 17, with aggravated robbery for five robberies in Baytown and Harris County. One suspect was traced after a stolen cell phone tied to a Harris County robbery led to the others. two juveniles’ names are withheld. Juan Nava, 17, remained in Baytown City Jail as of Tuesday.
Baytown Gentle Dental plans Dentistry from the Heart on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3700 Emmet Hutto Boulevard. More than 100 residents without dental insurance can receive a free extraction cleaning or filling, with volunteers from seven area Dentists assisting. A 19-year-old man is charged with aggravated assault after a Tuesday early morning shooting at a Sheldon Road game room. A pregnant woman was critically injured, another woman was shot in the leg, and a security guard fired back. The suspect drove the pregnant victim to Houston Methodist San Jacinto in Baytown where police detained him.
Chambers County commissioners heard development remains active with 18 to 20 projects in discussion with the Baytown West Chambers County Economic Development Foundation. Mike Shields, executive director, presented a resolution to continue the foundation’s work. See page 3.
A partnership among ExxonMobil Houston Volunteer Lawyers United Way and Baytown city served 15 clients with free will preparation. First meetings occurred July 19 at Baytown Community Center with volunteer attorneys from ExxonMobil. reviews and completed wills set for August 9. Clients cited financial barriers and family needs as reasons for participating.
