Chambers County Museum Closed For Remodeling Paint and Mural Planned
The Chambers County Historical Commission Museum will close for several weeks for remodeling including new vinyl flooring and wall paint. Artifacts and records have been safely stored. A mural on the west wall facing Washington Avenue will depict Fort Anahuac in 1832 and the Turtle Bayou Resolution signing on June 13 1832 funded by the Chambers County Commissioners Court and the Anahuac Municipal Development District from tourism sales taxes.

Multiple thefts and damages reported in city blocks
Police reported criminal mischief across several sites. In the 200 block of Wildwood a home and car were damaged with $520 in losses. In the 1700 block of James Bowie tires were slashed. In the 1300 block of Coyote Lane tools and a laptop were stolen from a home. An air conditioning unit was stolen from a vacant house on Kilgore Road. The theft at a business totaled $1,000.
