Experts Hope For Extra 10 Billion For Weapons
Washington defense experts say a 1.0 million man cutback in the 3.4 million strong U S military could save about 10 billion dollars yearly from the 80 billion Pentagon budget. The funds would finance new missiles, bombers, submarines and the Safeguard program as Vietnam costs decline. Leaders urge reducing personnel to shrink the budget while preserving frontline weapons and European force reductions to ease balance of payments pressures.

Apollo 11 To Leave Instruents On Moon
CAPE KENNEDY Fla AP three scientific instruments to be placed on the lunar surface by the Apollo 11 astronauts may reveal how much the moon quakes and wobbles. The devices could tell scientists how rapidly continents on earth drift apart and whether the moon is molten or solid. The EASEP package includes a seismic station, a solar wind experiment, and a laser reflector to measure Earth–Moon distance with inch precision, operating up to 10 years.
