Col. James T. Crump 39, a Baytown native and former Baytown Refinery employee, died when his F-102 jet collided with another near Uvalde. Crump held Texas National Guard posts and commanded at Kelly AFB. his widow Lil Griffin and two daughters survive, with funeral plans pending.
