Baytown Council postpones Charter Review Commission election
The council hesitates to elect a 15 to 23 member Charter Review Commission to hold meetings and draft a revised charter for voters. Concerns include influence by a special interest faction and reduced council oversight. Mayor Mundinger calls for tonight’s 6 p.m. meeting to discuss recommendations one by one. Joe Floyd says he’s disappointed but understands the reluctance to cede control. The session occurs in Baytown City Hall at 2401 Market St.
