Famous Houston Youth Symphony to Perform in Baytown
The Houston All-City Youth Symphony Orchestra directed by Harry Lantz and the Robert E. Lee High School Choir will perform Saturday night at REL. The program includes Shostakovich Festive Overture and Dvorak Symphony No. 4, with 30 instruments accompanying the choir in the first half. The group, ages 13 to 18, has international acclaim from a 1965 Europe tour and was invited by the German Music Educators Conference.

Baytown Fire Chief L. V. Bailey announced W. H. Buddy McBride as assistant fire chief and Henry K. Row as captain. A new anti zoning group in Baytown formed last Friday to oppose a zoning ordinance. It announced its Central Executive Committee on Monday to direct efforts. Andrew J. The Bayshore Rod Reel and Gun Club announces its large maritime and outdoor exhibit at the Astrodome Exhibit Center January 31 to February 5. Balloting for Goose Creek Country Club directors opened at noon Tuesday and runs until 8 pm when a general meeting begins. Nominating committee leaders named ten candidates with five stockholders able to nominate another candidate seven days before voting ends. Retiring directors complete their three year terms as five directors are slated for election. The dining room buffet runs until 7 pm, Homer Wilson presides over the annual meeting and progress reports are to be given by committee members.

New Cold Front Pushes South
A cold front crossed the Texas Panhandle bringing heavy cold and a mix of wintry precipitation.
